Somalia: Land Mine Targets Sierra Leon Troops

Kismayu ? News just in from the lower Juba region of Somalia confirm that a land mine attack that targeted a passing Sierra Leone convoy exploded moments ago in Kismayu.

The explosion occurred near Kismayu general hospital, however, the exact number of casualities is not yet known.

However, an eye witness confirmed with Shabelle media station that four civilians died on the spot after the Sierra Leone troops opened gunfire at the civilians moments after the explosion occurred.

In other news still in Kismayu a fierce war broke up between Alshabab fighters and the Raskamboni militia last night at the outskirts of the city. Severe damages were done to each other and it is not yet clear who controls the area where the fighting's occurred last night.

The situation of Kismayu is deteriorating as days go by as the political stalemate continues between rival militias and the federal government of the establishment of an administration in the region.
