PRINCETON, N.J. (1/1/13) - The Princeton men's track team hosts a dual with Navy on Sunday, Jan. 6 at Jadwin Gym.
This will be the 42nd dual meet between Princeton and Navy in the last 55 years, with Princeton holding the 21-20 edge in the series. The Tigers have won the last nine duals, with Navy's last win coming during the 1999-00 season.
Last year Princeton won 107-71, capturing 13 of 17 events.
Tom Hopkins was a double winner, with victories in the 400 and long jump. He ran 48.58 in the 400 and reached 6.95 meters (22-9.75) in the long jump. Senior Ivan Charbonneau won the 60-meter dash at 6.99 and the 60-meter hurdles title went to Rob Mohr at 8.37. Sebastian Steffen won the 200 in a time of 22.41.Princeton went 1-2-3 in the 800 with Peter Callahan taking top honors at 1:51.91. Bradley Paternostro was second at 1:52.96 and Russell Dinkins is third at 1:53.44. The Tigers did it again the mile with two runners posting personal bests.? Joe Stilin crossed the line at 4:07.37 for first place and a PR, Chris Bendtsen was second with a PR of 4:09.58 and Alejandro Arroyo Yamin was third at 4:10.24. Michael Palmisano won the 1k in 2:26.92 and Tyler Udland ran a PR winning the 3k at 8:27.10. Princeton also won the distance medley relay by 18 seconds. In the field events, Dave Slovenski and Garner McCloud won the pole vault and triple jump, respectively.
